hanging out on my new friend's couch
in Portland
I haven't been here for long
but I've met some awesome people
and they've got this couch
it's where I'm hanging out

It's been a stressful stretch of time
this past week or so
and everything wears down before you know
but this couch in this punk rock house
feels like home right now
yeah, this couch feels like fucking home right now

cause every start eventually comes to an end
and it's nice to put yourself out there and make new friends
What did I ever do to deserve these good people in my life
chuck the end in the recycle bin, here's to new beginnings

sold all of my belongings and moved across the country
as we literally drove up north we figuratively fell down south
that's a way for me to say that shit fell apart

and the differences that grew were becoming too wide to hold on to
the enormous gap between us too big to cross
well that's it, such is life, I guess it's time to give up
well that's it, fuck life, I give up
